Special Events

LifeStream is pleased to offer several special events each year that not only enhance social opportunities for our seniors and people with disabilities but which also provide some much-needed funding support for programming.

For example, we offer:

Aging Well Conference – This event is offered each May during Older Americans Month at the Ball State University Alumni Center in coordination with the Fisher Institute on Wellness and Gerontology and the Indiana Division of Aging. The ninth annual conference will be held May 24, 2012, at the Ball State University Alumni Center in Muncie.

Caregiver Classes – Our caregiver program manager offers special classes called Powerful Tools as well as American Red Cross Caregiver classes and other educational events to help caregivers be the best they can be. Our program also sponsors monthly support groups to help caregivers. Contact 800-589-1121 for details.

Golf Tournament – Our third annual LifeStream Legends EngAGEment golf tournament is set for May 16, 2012, at The Players Club in Yorktown. (Photos from the 2011 event can be found on our Facebook page.) Reserve your spot early this year call 765-759-1121.

Nutrition Awareness Month – Each March we participate in the national Nutrition Awareness Month activities, including have a special nutrition day at all our Senior Cafes. For more information, contact our nutrition manager for details.

Senior Day at the Fair– LifeStream sponsors Senior Day at the Fair at several of our area fairs. These special days offer seniors an opportunity to be entertained, play bingo and enjoy special refreshments or meals.  For details and sponsorship opportunities, contact our aging and disability resource center director.
